Looking For Cheap Flight To Grenada?

November 28th, 2009

Lately, everyone has been getting married. Most of my friends have been wearing gowns and marrying people. Maybe it’s time for me to wear one, too. Weddings are awesome events, really dramatic. From the flourish of the bride’s gown, the majesty of the church, to the detail of the groom’s nervous twitch.

A friend of mine decided to marry somebody from Grenada, and she invited me to her wedding. Yes, Grenada. Where is it? I looked it up before we went there. It’s somewhere near Venezuela. This friend of mine and I grew up together, and we’ve been friends since we were really small. She really wanted me there. She said it wasn’t really much of a problem because the there were a lot of cheap flight to Grenada.  Airfare to Grenada wasn’t really that expensive and, she emphasized, cheap flight to Grenada is available.

My friend got married in December, wintertime, so the welcoming warmth of Grenadian weather was such a relief. I knew the instance I walked out of the plane, “the cheap flight to Grenada,” as my friend kept repeating, that my stay was going to be great. December is the wet season in Grenada, so aside from the warmth, it rained every now and then. This is way better than winter.

April to October, I was told, is tourist season, so the place can be very busy during that time and booking flights can be very difficult. Good thing my friend chose to get married in December. The wet weather is what makes December in Grenada an offpeak season for tourists. It’s also the reason why we got really cheap tickets to Grenada. Off season, less tourists, not so busy, the place was beautiful.

The wedding was great. The wedding was western, though. I was actually hoping that it would be Grenadian or something exotic, but it wasn’t. But it was beautiful, nevertheless. My friend was glowing the whole day, from the wedding ceremony to the reception. The Grenadian cuisine, and I’m admittedly not an expert, seemed similar to the style I’ve seen in New Orleans. I was also told that the Grenadian culture is heavily influenced by French culture as evidenced by their language. Their language, as I was told, is peppered with French words.

Interesting culture and the magnificent people of Grenada made the wedding very special.
